Coated, a family-owned business based in Melbourne believes that everything is better with chocolate. Guided by this philosophy, they aimed to revitalise their product packaging to capture the hearts of chocolate lovers.

The objective was clear: to move away from plain white-label packaging and introduce a vibrant array of bespoke custom designs that would increase market appeal and ultimately sales revenue.

Our process involved conducting comprehensive market research on design and packaging trends within Australia’s independent grocery confectionery, online confectionery, and hamper markets, leading to a refreshed brand strategy and enhanced brand positioning.

We then developed innovative concept designs that explored brand blocking and shopper functionality, focusing on front-of-pack (FOP) and back-of-pack (BOP) self-standing packaging designs.

Coated’s new packaging employs distinct shades of pink, ensuring high visibility and brand recognition. The design leverages a playful yet sophisticated aesthetic, incorporating Coated’s iconic “C” for enhanced brand recognition. This modern and vibrant approach reflects Coated’s innovative ethos and aligns with contemporary consumer preferences, reinforcing the brand’s market position.

Having already resonated with longtime and new customers, Coated’s packaging transformation is set to elevate brand awareness, solidify their position as a beloved choice among chocolate enthusiasts and ultimately drive growth.
